Canadian News Report on Secret CIA Detention Centers

"It would be hard to systematically torture in known detention centres, but you can't track a secret world. The secret locales are one part of the whole picture, the dark underbelly, and they're absolutely outside of the law."

Such reports as this do not make one proud to be an American. Lest we forget, it was for such conduct that we condemned the Nazis and Stalinists. If this is not racism or worse, I do not know what is! Lest we forget, torture (along with slavery) is one of the two non-derogable human rights, i.e. there can be NO exceptions! What is forgotten by those who so violate basic human rights is that no particular individual -- say bin Laden -- is the root of terrorism. It is misconduct such as this that is the primary source of the violence that spreads the call for vengeance in ever widening circles. One can see this now in Afghanistan and Iraq where each dead or captured dissident is being replaced by dozens more.
