It is ironic that the Catholic Church downgrades its women -- nuns as well as lay. In my experience (with, of course, some exceptions of abusive school teachers in the past) nuns have been the heart and soul of the Catholic Church. Some have departed from it in distress with its policies, but many have labored selflessly on behalf of the poor, needy, and victims of injustice. Viva these good women!
