Suicide Nations?

[With all due respect for the anxieties of Israelis in the face of a nuclear threat from Iran, I don't believe that either Israel or Iran is a suicide nation. Presumably most of the individual suicide bombers have either been depressed or fanatics. But I don't believe two nations with abundant young people with so much life ahead of them would risk all with a nuclear war. Talking is what is called for now so that each can reassure the other that it will not pursue self-destruction. Lest we forget, it was we outsiders (U.S. and British oil interests) who sabotaged Iranian democracy under Mossadeq and installed the brutal Shah:

It is, perhaps, our obligation to make peace possible here as recompense. Benny Morris (below) demonstrates the failure of a well known Israeli to get it. Ed Kent]

Using Bombs to Stave Off War

Should a conventional assault by Israel fail to stall the
Iranian nuclear program, a ratcheting up of the
Iranian-Israeli conflict to a nuclear level will most
likely follow.
