The Greedies on the March

[As I recall from my excellent course on Marxism as an undergrad, Marx predicts that when fewer and fewer capitalists have acquired more and more of the wealth, those deposed will launch a revolution to recover their losses.  I doubt that we shall be seeing a full scale revolution.  More likely democratic socialism or, if you prefer the term, welfare capitalism, will along the line redress the balance.  This is the pattern evolving in Latin America, now that Bush is so tied down in Iraq that the U.S. cannot do its usual ugly things to prevent reforms there.  Needless to say Europe in already on board.  The U.S. will presumably have to follow at some point down the line to prevent a serious blow up of us who have less and less versus the greedies.  Right on with our revolution!  Part of this package will hopefully be the redirection of monies to people support and away from yet new forms of atomic weapons now being contemplated by the Bush junta.  Ed Kent]
