Unicef Reports that U.S. (and British) Kids Are the Worst Off of the Industrialized Nations!

It is damned embarrassing to discover through a Unicef report in Aljazeera (confirmed by news reports from around the world) that the kids in the U.S. and Britain are down at the bottom of the heap of well-being of the industrialized nations. Czechoslovakia does much better! And the Nordic countries are the super stars.

Needless to say the Bush slogan -- "Leave no child behind" -- is fraudulent.

To point out the obvious -- we are pouring monies down the rabbit hole of Middle East military fiascoes. The super rich are enjoying immense incomes and lowered taxes -- and kids' poverty rates are on the increase only in America? Shame on us!!!

To make this graphic millions of American kids are facing hunger, let alone inadequate schooling, medical care, housing and all the rest.

We are, incidentally, one of the wealthiest nations in the world per capita. Double shame? Do something about it!
