WMD ---> Regime Change ---> Democarcy ---> Supporting Sunni Authoritarians Again?

[Back in the good old days there was not a clear show break between films in a movie theater. One simply got up and left when the credits came up for the movie starting when one first arrived.

If one reads the article below, one may have a comparable sense that this is the place where I came in. We launched an attack on Iraq to halt its use of Weapons of Mass Destruction. Finding none we turned to getting rid of Hussein whom we had executed. Then, needing some new justification for our occupation, we moved on to bringing in democracy (the free enterprise version of same). Now that that does not seem to be working for us, we are back to supporting authoritarian Sunni regimes.

And if you haven't been noticing of late, we are now featuring WMD again (in Iran). However, the pace seems to be speeding up. We want regime change there, too. Supporting democracy is our rationale for bombing Iran. Where can we go from there but back to supporting authoritarian Sunni regimes again per the article below.

All this reminds me of the proverbial dog chasing its tail. Glad my daughter got out of the National Guard in time not to be called away from her 3 children to play this hop scotch game of rounds. I do worry about all her former military buddies left behind to kill women, children, and other living beings. And wasn't it authoritarian Saudi Sunnis who did us the 9/11 thing? Ed Kent]
