Voodoo Economics -- Again

These Bush administration deficit items -- his Daddy called such Voodoo economics: http://www.salon.com/news/col/huff/2002/09/05/voodoo/
-- reflect only two of the horrendous depravations scheduled by the Bush administration this next year for us Americans along with cutbacks in supports for housing:

and most amazing of all -- denial of adequate funding for our seriously wounded veterans!

I personally know too many people who are being hit by such things. We all do. Some are being forced to make choices between food and life-saving medicine. Young couples are foregoing the American dream of ever owning a home of their own. Our military families are being impacted not only by the potential horror of loss of a loved one, but also a lack of family support, should one's death or serious wounding occur!

And who is listening to our pleas for help? Not our President who grew up and continues to live in the lap of inherited luxury! Bush's proposed programs -- cutting taxes for the super wealthy and the destruction of Social Security, which is that last defense of people who have worn themselves thin with a lifetime of labor, tell it all. This guy either does not know what he is doing or more likely, knows all too well precisely what he is doing -- for his wealthy friends!

I hope that we Americans will wake up this year to the fiasco that Bush and his infamous cabal of tricksters has created: incredible disparities between our prospering upper 10% and the rest of us along with the lengthening list of our good men and women being pointlessly killed and maimed over there.

Thank God my daughter, who was an enthusiastic member of the National Guard before she resigned prior to 9/11 when she decided that with a growing family she should do her medical training as a civilian, is not over there! I do not hear of the Bush daughters -- or those of any of his friends -- volunteering for military service!

I hope that we Americans wake up before it is too late to call a halt to this madness!
